The challenge has turned into a real blessing as it's given me the chance to play with some new designs and with my new script liner brush. I can't wait to get back into it again tomorrow!!
It's not often that we are asked to paint an eye design or cheek art whilst still having a substantial amount of time with each of our lovely clients... having painted at the airport this weekend, that's exactly what I've been tasked with (because the kids need to get through the final security check, their faces can't be too obscured). The challenge has turned into a real blessing as it's given me the chance to play with some new designs and with my new script liner brush. I can't wait to get back into it again tomorrow!!

We've been incredibly lucky to have been invited to help spread some joy at many of our airports across the country these school holidays!! We've had our teams of balloon twisters, pirates and fairies out and about in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch today and will continue to do so tomorrow and the weekend after next. It's been a real treat to chat with the kids about where they're off to and to be a part of making their day more special. Sarah's also been based over at DFS Galleria face painting the kids at Auckland International as they head off overseas. If you're heading off tomorrow, Monday or Thurs-Fri of this week coming, be sure to swing by to say 'hi' and get yourself in the draw for the amazing money-can't-buy prize in Los Angeles! Hope your holidays are off to a great start; ours certainly are! It's hard to believe that Christmas is on the horizon but here at Fab Faces, we've already had a number of inquiries regarding Christmas bookings!
I'm very excited to welcome two new (and very talented) artists to the Fab Faces Team!
Amber comes to us with a background in children's entertainment and nannying - she'll be looking after Mount Maunganui and Tauranga for us, offering fairy entertainment, face painting and balloon twisting. We've also got the fabulous Alicia joining us to cover Cambridge and Hamilton. She's an experienced face painter and balloon twister and would love to join you at your next birthday party. We're really excited to venture into the Waikato and Bay of Plenty and look forward to helping make your parties and events magical! Do you know somebody that's great with kids? Is comfortable in their own skin? Keen to learn a new skill and make excellent money doing so? After some extra work without it taking over their life?
If you do, please have them get in touch! We're looking to grow our team of fabulous balloon twisters in Auckland and Hamilton (other centres too!). Full training and support provided to help you get into this exciting art form. It's not as hard as you're probably imagining, so certainly don't let that put you off! It's hard to believe that Christmas is fast approaching!
Christmas is a busy time for everyone and late November until mid December is our busiest time as face painters. We're excited to be joining many companies to celebrate Christmas with their staff and families - some new and some we've worked with for a number of years. If you're keen to secure one of our fabulous face painters, balloon twisters or entertainers in any of our centres, be sure to get in touch ASAP. As a reminder, we have the following on offer:
Not in one of those centres? Don't forget that we have a large range of high quality professional supplies available to buy if you'd like to have a crack yourself... there's nothing like the look on a child's face when they see themselves turned into the design of their dreams. Stay tuned to find out the exciting things we have planned for 2014! At Fab Faces, we're passionate about face and body painting. We've worked with countless products over the years so have a good idea of what represents good value whilst still being top-notch quality... and our knowledge benefits you!
Global Colours is one of the new players in the professional face painting scene. They've made high quality art products for the last 20 years and a year or so ago, ventured into professional cake makeup. We've been really impressed by the crisp lines that these paints create, the excellent coverage they offer and the ease at which they works up to the right consistency. All of our face paints are water based - they stay put for the day without cracking and wash off easily when you're ready to remove your design and the Global Colours range is no different. Their fabulous range doesn't only offer cake makeup though. We're also proud to sell their gorgeous liquid glitters (known as Global FX) and their loose cosmetic glitters. The Global FX liquid glitters contain more product than any of the other liquid glitters, have a fine plastic tip that delivers glitter exactly where you want it, and dries faster than the competition. Check out their awesome colour range here! Mehron has produced theatrical makeup for many, many years and we're pleased to have expanded our range. You'll never smell a face paint that smells better than their Paradise range, thanks to the inclusion of cocoa butter, avocado oil and more. These paints blend beautifully on the skin and are feel just as gorgeous on. The Mehron Starblends are powder based cakes (very similar to eye shadow but on a much bigger scale) and are great for skull bases and adding quick shading to a variety of designs. Their powders feel light on the skin and are especially suited to those hot summer days. Click here to explore our Mehron range. We're incredibly proud of the products we carry. Should you wish to purchase anything (or even just to chat about all things painty), we'd love to hear from you! Likewise, if you'd like us to carry anything from the Global Colours or Mehron ranges that we don't currently have, drop us a line. We're looking for fab new people to join our Auckland team! Fab Faces would love some general entertainers to come onboard - they might be trained in face painting and/or balloons, but this isn't a requirement. Please click on the following link if this might be of interest to you. Are you the special person we're looking for?
It's with much pleasure that we're able to welcome Brad to the Auckland team as one of our balloon specialists. He's been interested in balloon twisting for many years so going pro was a natural next step for him.
... and for those of you a little out of the loop, we've now also got Nic and Eloise painting for us also. Nic brings with her experience running and painting in her own business so we're very excited to have her expertise and knowledge. Eloise started with us at the beginning of 2013 but due to other work commitments hasn't been able to get out painting very often - the awesome news is she's managed to change her shifts at her other job which has freed her up to paint for us on Saturdays, our busiest day of the week. So if you see one of our new artists out and about please give them a big smile - they'll be excited to meet you! I'm very excited to be able to report that not only has Fab Faces finally come to Wellington but that we've brought onboard an amazing, world-class artist! Hayley comes with many, many years of experience in face and body painting and has an amazing demeanor, making her a real force to be reckoned with. If you're looking for an artist in Wellington, be sure to get in touch - Hayley would love to see you at your next party, event or help in your next marketing campaign. <3 Sarah |
