Time for an update! 10/21/2010
Last night Sam and Rochelle came round to begin their training and did a fantastic job! They each have their own style that they'll continue to develop, giving all of you a wide range of options when picking your painter. I will give each of the girls their own gallery once they get up and running properly to allow you to make your decision. Fab Faces have lots of exciting public events on the books in the next little while! Catch us face painting, glitter tattooing and/or balloon twisting at:
1 Comment Training up some new painters... 10/09/2010
I've had a fantastic response in my search to find some new painters - I'm currently chatting with a couple of girls about joining the team! I'll keep you all in the loop with our progress! The countdown to Christmas has begun! 10/08/2010
Hard to believe though it is, Christmas is approaching fast! If you're considering making a booking for a work Christmas do, why not get in touch and ask me to pencil in your slot? I'll hold it, no obligation, and just ask you to confirm if I have another inquiry for that date and time... I know that trying to co-ordinate everything can be a hard task, but being able to hold a booking with me will hopefully make your job easier! Please send me through an email if you're interested in face painting, balloon twisting or glitter tattoos for your Christmas party and we'll nut out the details! Glitter Tattoos 10/08/2010
Only a few more days to go and my new glitter stencils will be here! I've placed a massive order through Faketoos and as I type they're winging their way over to me here in Auckland. Glitter tattoos are such an awesome addition to face painting, so it will be great to be able to offer such a wide range of designs to you all! As soon as they arrive, I'll get onto photographing some glitter tats to pop up on my glitter tattoo page :D Good times at the zoo! 09/16/2010
I had a great day on Saturday painting the faces of Samuel and his friends at the Franklin Zoo (on the way to Hamilton, near Pokeno) - they all looked absolutely gorgeous (before I painted their faces!) and his lovely mum, Jo, was kind enough to agree to sharing her photos... keep an eye out as they'll be posted soon. If you haven't checked out the Franklin Zoo yet, have a think about going... I didn't manage a look around as I was so busy face painting and balloon twisting, but will definitely be back for a proper visit. http://www.franklinzoo.co.nz/ Face Painting at the petshop! 09/07/2010
Another weekend done and dusted! I had a marvelous time painting the kids at Animates Botany over the weekend - it was great to see some of the same smiling faces from the Fun Days earlier in the year, and some of the kids even came back both on Saturday and Sunday. It was crazy busy down there, which was great in some ways but frustrating in others - it's always a bit disappointing to have to rush through and not take the ideal amount of time with each child. A fun weekend though... it's great to get out and meet the local animal lovers! Hope you all had a great weekend too... Animates Botany Downs - take two! 08/26/2010
Hi again everyone, I've just confirmed with the lovely girls at Animates Botany that I will be returning for their next Fun Days weekend! This is awesome news as I had such a great time at the last Aquatic Fun Days event. If you and the kids are free, bring them on down to the store on Ti Rakau Drive - I'll be there on Saturday the 4th of Sept from 2.30pm until 5.30pm and again on Sunday the 5th of Sept from 12pm until 5.30pm, offering fun face painting complimentary to you (and thanks to Animates!) The theme this time round is 'barnyard' so keep an eye out for the staff members painted up as pigs, cows, cats, dogs, mice... all sorts. No set theme for the kids though, so they can either get in on the fun and join the farm celebrations or go with something more 'traditional' - spiderman, tigers or maybe rainbow faries anyone? Enjoy the next little while and hopefully I'll see you at Botany not this weekend, but the next! What a great weekend! 08/21/2010
It's Sunday today and have thoroughly enjoyed my day off, just relaxing around home. I had a fantastic day yesterday filled with yummy cupcakes and lots of smiling kiddies! My day started at Delish Cupcakes on the Shore (if you haven't checked them out already, have a look at www.delishcupcakes.co.nz), where they always make delicious creations (funny that!) - I helped entertain the kids for their grand opening which was a lot of fun. The weather wasn't so flash but thankfully for the girls, this didn't seem to deter visitors seeking out treats. After my morning there, I joined Logan (happy birthday buddy!) and his family in celebrating his 4th birthday - jungle style!! Logan's Mum, Sam, was kind enough to take lots of professional photos for me so as soon as they arrive I'll pop them up on the site. If you're considering a professional photographer to capture that special birthday or event, I'd highly recommend Sam! Face painting doesn't last forever, but gorgeous photos of my creations certainly do :) I've loaded some of her photos up (check out my gallery) and have a look at her site - http://www.dancinglightphoto.co.nz I also had my first go at balloon twisting at a party at Logan's - I'm really pleased with how it went (I only popped one balloon, yay) and the kids seemed to like the designs. I'm looking forward to learning more designs and increasing my speed :) Will be a good challenge for me but one that I'm enjoying. Hope you all had a great weekend! Getting sorted... 08/18/2010
I'm slowly gathering up everything I'd like - yesterday I got the ball rolling and am having some Fab Faces t-shirts and a hoodie made up to wear whilst I'm out and about painting, glittering and twisting, and today I've started organising a menu book to help give everyone ideas on what they'd like painted... will continue adding to this book as I try out new designs! Delish Cupcakes on the Shore! 08/16/2010
Delish Cupcakes are celebrating the opening of their brand spanking new store and to get the party started are very kindly offering complimentary face painting to their customers! Pop in for Delish cupcakes, drinks and face painting this Saturday from 10am till 1pm (though the girls will be in there all day if those hours don't suit, the cupcakes alone are worth the trip!). See you at Shop 4, 14-16 Raines Ave, in Forrest Hill! Check out their website by clicking on the image below, to start planning your flavour choices! |
